The Color of the Media

John 8:32 – And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

In the 1890s, a bitter circulation war erupted between Joseph Pulitzer’s New York World and William Randolph Hearst’s New York Journal. In an spiraling contest of outrageous journalism, the newspapers used all means to attract readers—heavy doses of murder and sex, banner headlines and colored supplements.

Do you know what is more reprehensible in the 2016 Elections besides Trump, Rubio, Cruz and the Republican and Democratic establishments?

It is the mainstream media and press. Liberal, Conservative, Progressive and the Far Right and Left.

These news outlets have manipulated the news with their personal bias, creating tasteless reality-type reporters and want-to-be political experts.

Over the weekend, the mainstream media, press and talking heads started trying to dismantle the campaign surge of Donald Trump.

Suddenly, the news cycle is outraged that Trump has denied knowing David Duke and any organizations that represent racial hatred.

And isn’t it ironic that some of these same overpaid swivel chair talking heads and fame seeking reporters were adoring and sniffing all up and over Donald Trump.

Now, suddenly, the American public is thrown all types of “investigative journalist” stories about the candidates in which they created to boost their ratings and sales.

Americans are not so naïve that we don’t see how this entire election cycle is playing out. The mainstream media and old news publications are doing a horrible and dishonorable job in trying to manipulate We the people and the outcome of this presidential election.

I recalled when I was studying journalism, one of the subjects we focus on was the responsibility of a journalist to provide factual, ethical and objective news. That means that a journalist should avoid plagiarizing, fabricating news and avoid having a conflict of interest.

Well, journalism today can well be known as “yellow journalism, ” at best.

Where are the pride and honesty in the media and reporting of the news today?

It is gone.

Instead today, we have mainstream news crafting the stories and predicting its outcome to weigh on the side of their way of thinking.

At this period of history, sadly, we are continually being covered with a color of journalism that we should have long ago abandoned.

And it is the color of yellow.
