Spiritual Connections

Proverbs 18:24 – A man [that hath] friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend [that] sticketh closer than a brother.

Who are you spiritually connected to?

Are you connected to people who are relying on God and going forward doing what He has called them to do (individually or collectively)?

Or are you connected to people who are relying on others to get them through life?

Spiritual connections are important.

Not because of selfish gain but spiritual gain.

Over the past few weeks, I have been thinking long and hard on the spiritual connections in my life.

Taking an audit of some of my acquaintances and friends, I placed them into three distinct categories.

The won’t do, can but won’t do and won’t wait will do.

First, let’s look at the” won’t do” group of friends. These friends have resolved to be comfortable doing what they do best. Complain and blame others for their circumstances.

Second group of friends are the “can do but won’t. ” There is no doubt that they have the capability to change their circumstances but fear stops them and the unfortunate excuse that comes from their mouth are that either they are “too old” to go forth or that they have “too many other things they have to do.”

Last group of friends are the “won’t wait will do. ” These people are not taking in consideration their age or circumstances. They are not allowing anything to dictate their dream or purpose in life. They are go-getters who have failed over the years, yet, they get back up. Nothing stands in their way.

Looking over the three categories, at one time, I too may have fell into the first two categories. And though I have moved onward, all my friends will remain my friends because everyone has something special within themselves.

Nonetheless, today, I align myself with the last group of friends. You see, having been through so much in life, the good, bad, ugly and near death experiences, I had to learn not to let age, circumstances or negative people determine who and what I could do or my God given destiny.

If you ask me to describe my life today it would be through various scriptures and one is given in Hebrews 11:4. “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”

When I think of how good God has and is to me, I consider my true spiritual connections to be, God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.

Get connected where it counts!
