Ephesians 5:11 – And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove [them].
In the past seven days all hell seems to have broken out. Not that this is unusual because if we are honest with ourselves, the world is doing what a sinful world does. It sins.
The horrific terror attacks in Spain and Charlottesville, Virginia is unfortunately soon to be the new normal.
Hate can never disguise itself. No matter where one lives on this earth, hate prevails loudly and with more intensity when given the opportunity to challenge the spirit of loving one another and living in peace.
What seems to be a sad statement of our society is that the confederate statues that are being fought over are mute. They represent a time of darkness in this nation that many would prefer to shove to the side or hide under a false narrative.
And as we view the evilness of terrorist attacks throughout the world, we know that using one’s religion to justify hate is not of God.
So here we are today in 2017 with the loud voice of hate raising it voices and one world leader justifying this hate because hate is in his own heart.
One only need asks one self. How does one overtake this new surge of hatred?
I would like to make the suggestion of one looking at the successful efforts of those who fought against the many facets of hate and evil by fighting back with non-violent movements (and there are times war has to bring about peace).
One particular movement known as White Rose is a good example of how youth stood against evil.
I want to thank a family member for sharing this historical article about the White Rose movement that started in Germany by students during the beginning of World War II.
In 1942, Hans Scholl, a medical student at the University of Munich, his sister Sophie, Christoph Probst, Willi Graf, and Alexander Schmorell knew that their silence of what was taking place by Adolph Hitler and the Third Reich needed to be exposed to the German people.
How did the White Rose movement get out their message to the people of Germany?
Through leaflets *pamphlets.
These students understood that hate and evil needed to be confronted and they didn’t use excuses to do the will of the Lord.
Their movement faced termination in 1943 but not their spirit to stand against the wiles of the enemy.
For additional information I have embedded the link to the White Rose movement and current activities and chapters (White Rose Society) in the United States.
Lastly, the video on this post was inspired by a creative spirit who wanted to share this rose with you, so that you may share it with others. The dates within the video have historical meanings and should make you want to know how these periods in history has effected all our lives.
In God we trust. Reflect. Pray and Resist hate and share a rose today.
