Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity. Psalm 37:1 KJV
This is the July 4th holiday weekend and many are taking off to the shore, vacationing or just relaxing at home.
Depending on what side of the world you dwell, here in the U.S.A. we are being warned not to let down our guard concerning possible terror attacks.
As much as I try to brush off these warnings, I realize that it is important to comply with those who are in authority.
In the past, the warning of terrorists invading the U.S. would have fallen on deaf ears.
But not anymore.
After the 9/11 attacks, even though Americans went about business as usual, many of us are not naïve to think that we are never going to be attacked again. Because that indeed is foolish and wishful thinking.
Yet, with all these warnings of possible terror threats and attacks that is facing us in America, our destruction isn’t going to come from outside but within.
That’s why I keep being mindful that there is no need to fret about our outside enemies but rather the ones that are walking among us.
In ancient times when Rome was predominant as the greatest empire in the world, it wasn’t their enemies that destroyed them.
It was Romans that destroyed Rome.
You see, Rome fell by the way of many things that America is mirroring today, just to mention a few things would be, decline in morales and values, political corruption, unemployment, decaying infrastructure, military spending, and public health.
While we know that America is continually losing it status as the mighty nation it once used to be, it is far better than some nations that have stripped its citizens of their rights to freedom of speech and religion.
As an American citizen, I have a great deal to be thankful for.
And I do not take the freedom God has given me lightly.
Neither do most Americans.
Yet, while it is still light and before the darkness takes completely over us.
Americans must take hold of the fact that God has and will be our true Liberator.
And He will withstand our enemies.
For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb. Psalm 37:2
If only we stand with Him and not against Him.
Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. Psalm 37:3
Have an enjoyable 4th of July.
