Let all those that seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee: let such as love thy salvation say continually, The LORD be magnified. Psalm 40:16
Happiness is temporal but Joy is eternal in Christ!
We are on the brink of another new year and there are some people who have decided to let go of negative thinking, negative people and making presumptuous decisions that have placed oneself into a condition of believing the devil’s lies that they will never rebound from hardships they dealt with in 2015.
However, in my opinion, moving forward in the new year of 2016 really shouldn’t be a big deal.
After all, each new year really is numerical and has no special power to change who we are but rather, makes us older, and hopefully, wiser as not to repeat the same mistakes we made in the past.
There will be of course some people who will or already have, made a “resolution list” of all the changes they would like to make in their lives in 2016.
Nevertheless, moving forward is given to each one of us, 365 days a year and this gift of a new day is handed to us by God.
Unfortunately, the world has taken one second on December 31st to declare that a new life is at hand and for us to do away with the old and celebrate a new beginning.
No matter how much we want to believe that at midnight on December 31st our lives will take on a different meaning from the previous year, God in His infinite wisdom gives us more than a false light of hope.
Our God continues to show His grace to us, every day, and it doesn’t require for us to wait for it on December 31st.
It is of the LORD’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. Lamentations 3:22-23
So, as the world takes hold of fireworks and a dropping ball, just remember that Jesus paid a costly price so that we could live a life that brings about a better change, 365 days a year.
Moving forward with Christ is a much more wonderful gift than leaving Him out of even one second of the day.
Moving forward isn’t about the change of a year but rather the change of one’s heart and thinking.

“Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.” Isaiah 43:18-19
