Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong. I Corinthians 16:13
Many are taking this day off to be with family and friends.
Others are perhaps laboring at their place of work.
However, one segment of America is always on duty 24 hours a day.
They are those who serve with pride and honor in our military.
These men and women from all walks of life are serving in various branches of the U.S. Military.
It is because of these present day warriors and those who served in the past that we owe our gratitude and thanks too.
As an American, I would not want to live anywhere in this world.
Yes, we the people, do have our problems.
But thanks be to God that He is continually showing us His mercy.
There are Memorial Day parades, memorial services and special programs being held throughout our country and many of those in attendance will be the “old soldiers” who still bear the heaviness of having loss someone they knew and fought beside.
These men and women remind us all that we should never forget the sacrifices that were and are being made for all Americans and people in other nations.
And finally, we need to give thanks to the civilians over the years who also put their lives on the line during time of war, going as far back to the Civil War and to our present day military conflicts.
Although these men and women may not have worn the U.S. uniform they were still working behind the scenes so that you and I can continue to live in freedom.
Nevertheless, when it is all said and done.
God should be the only One to get the glory.
May you all enjoy this day with our thoughts and prayers for a future that will be without lives being destroy and wars being our only path to peace.
