Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good. Romans 12:9
Let’s just get this out-of-the-way first.
GOP does not stand for God’s Only Party.
I know a few friends that have switched political parties over the years.
Some have been Democrats, Independent, Green Party, Socialist Party and other.
Now, two of my friends are staunch Republicans. Of course, you can probably imagine the heated (yet respectful) discussions that take place when the Dems and Repubs get together. If you don’t know them personally, you would think that they were preparing to go into the boxing ring.
After the terrorist attacks in Paris, my Republican friends have express the attitude to take it to the enemy. Just listening to them talk, text and Facebook about destroying the terrorist and not allowing the Syrian refugees to enter America is surreal. Especially, since both are people of color and have experience first–hand about being profiling while driving black (Mercedes) and walking in their own upscale neighborhood.
But the saddest part of the GOP playbook is how the leading candidate (Trump) is spreading ethnic and racial hate and religious intolerance as he campaigns in hopes of being the next President of the United States.
With all this rhetoric also comes the call from the majority of these candidates who (most of them) have never served one day in the military and are now speaking about putting boots on the ground.
But this is A-typical of the GOP.
Instead of fulfilling their patriotic duty when they were able to do so, now, they want to delegate it by sending our young men “who are not wealthy” to go fight against Isis when they are not willing to have their own children take on the same risk.
Indeed, we are living in dangerous times but to pretend that one group of people are better than another is getting to be old.
Here’s a newsflash. The GOP is not God’s Only Party.
And they are proving it each time they open their mouth and preach another kind of gospel.
If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen? I John 4:20
