3 For this is the will of God, your sanctification:[a] that you abstain from sexual immorality; 4 that each one of you know how to control his own body[b] in holiness and honor, 5 not in the passion of lust like the Gentiles who do not know God; 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5 English Standard Version (ESV)
Last week a nationally known morning show was touting the upcoming movie Fifty Shades of Grey.
The Today Show program producers must have the impression that elevating Fifty Shades of Grey will boost their television ratings, seeing that they once dominated the morning breakfast shows.
With all the fanfare this movie is getting on some television networks, I am wondering what will come next that the show producers think will appeal to the demographics that these morning shows cater too.
But, I digress now to get back on the troubling hysteria on the topic of Fifty Shades of Grey and the cult following of suburban women, stay at home moms, middle-aged and maturely old women have given to sexual fantasy in the way of bondage, discipline, domination, submission, sadism and masochism (BDSM).
Ironically, when you take a glimpse at this fifty shades demographic aren’t these some of the same familiar voices who are so quick to protest and scream about the sexual exhibition in the media by people, such as Miley Cyrus and Kim Kardashian, yet not seeing their own hypocrisy in merchandising the 50 shades franchise?
Fifty Shades of Grey is sexual exploitation and not about romance.
It is worrisome to think that right now, young girls and boys throughout the world are being used as sex toys and slaves.
Has any of these die-hard 50 Shades of Grey groupies ever given it one thought that they have now given their sanction and approval to human and sex traffickers?
Of course, the answer is no. Because it is all about self-gratification in this nation.
Once the book series of Fifty Shades of Grey hit the top-selling book list, it was indeed bound to be purchased by a movie company seeing that power, money and sex sells, especially, in America!
So, come this Valentine’s Day weekend, Fifty Shades of Grey will be opening in the movie theatres. There will no doubt be women hosting “Fifty Shades of Grey parties” and a re-reading of the book(s).
Now, with all this hoopla over a book that is known for being “erotic fantasy” and the readily acceptance by the most unlikely of America’s “June Cleaver” brand, how in the world can these women justify Fifty Shades of Grey as being innocent when human and sex trafficking is increasing every day and especially here in America.
Human and sex trafficking should not be overlooked. How callous is one to assume that someone who goes missing, such as a little girl (or boy) will not be bounded and forced into being someone’s sex toy. And much worse, they are forever ruined for life or murdered.
Fifty Shades of shame should be a hashtag for those who will have given BDSM legitimacy to rear its ugly head and especially, when the head will soon be marked against our children.
Allowing sexual content such as has been presented in the book and now being performed in a movie as a leisurely pleasure is what is destroying America within…and the one who helped pushed that door wide open is the women who should be above reproach.
Be pro-active and help end human/sex trafficking.
Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. Colossians 3:5 ESV
