United We Kneel

The wicked walk on every side, when the vilest men are exalted. Psalm 12:8

On Sunday, we saw Vice President Pence walked out of the Indianapolis football game because several football players from the opposing team had kneeled during the national anthem.

Then up steps the owner of the Dallas Cowboys, Jerry Jones declaring that if anyone on his team disrespect the flag they will not play.

Can we say hypocrites!

It is evident that President Trump has put the wrong messaging on why these football players are kneeling. And the truth of the matter is it isn’t about the American flag, our military or the National Anthem.

These men are kneeling to highlight those  police officers throughout America who have neither remorse nor concern about the killing of black men, women and children. And in many instances when the police officers are guilty of killing black people, they get off with a slap on the wrist and a “good job Charlie” salute or at times, a promotion.

What is overlooked by some white Americans is that the truth about black folks in America is most oftentimes written and spoken with untruths. American history books bear evidence of this fact.

A change of wording, dates and descriptions of black history has been so distorted that it had to be recovered to bring light on the truth.

It never ceases to amaze me that these so-called died in the wool patriots are not veterans nor have they served one day in the military for this country. They like to boast about America. They like to wear army fatigue and wave the American flag. But the majority of these patriots don’t realize that their freedom to discriminate and harass is because of some of those minorities they refuse to live or work among.

Now, we have Mike Pence who is no more than a shadow puppet of Trump showing his disrespect for the right of American football players to kneel and protest in silence. They haven’t gone out and burnt any American flags or refuse to do their jobs. No! They are only doing what this administration refuses to accept.

Their right to be 100% American citizens with all rights and privileges afforded to them as human-beings and wage earners.

The only way this nation will ever heal is to first face its ugly past and present.

United we kneel. Kneel for equality!

The Filtering of America: Legal Immigration

Matthew 25:35 – For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:

One of President Trump’s advisors is the infamous Stephen Miller. This young man appears to have a true heartfelt resentment against people who don’t look, speak or think like the “Trump” base.

In other words, Stephen Miller seems to be about turning the hand of time back to what he may believe was an all white nation.

America has never been predominately Caucasian, and that is a record of fact. Nor has only Caucasians been responsible for the building and prosperity of this nation.

We the people of all nationalities, races, ethnic and gender makeup have contributed to making this nation great and powerful.

So, when Trump and his advisors, i.e., Bannon and Miller push their white nationalist agenda on the American people, their needs to be an outcry from all corners of this nation.

Just yesterday during the daily White House briefing, Mr. Miller got into a heated discussion with CNN correspondent Jim Acosta over the new Immigration policy  Reforming American Immigration for a Strong Economy (RAISE) Act.

What is an affront to any person with common sense, Miller was saying that this proposed RAISE Act will be “saving jobs for minorities and black people.”

This ploy of using a handy “race card” to get a pass to discriminate against other ethnic groups do not play well with blacks folks…and it never will.

We got to recognize that the filtering of America is only a underhanded way to play the discrimination card. And Trump is the head dealer.

Not only are we looking to see our diversity disappear but the proposed RAISE Act is just another wedge issue that will tear us apart rather than find ways of uniting us.

We should always remember that Americans for the most part are immigrants (and former slaves) who lives were shaped by our past generations coming from all parts of the world, as Ireland, England, Germany, Africa, Israel, Middle East, Poland, Cuba, India, Asia, Mexico, South America,  West Indies, Italy and many other countries in this world.

Finally, I will say this. If anyone can unite us it sure isn’t man on earth but Christ in heaven.

The Bible has a lot to say about immigrants and immigration.  In fact, the Hebrew word ger, the closest word to our concept of an immigrant, appears 92 times in the Old Testament alone.   We encourage you to do a Bible study on the topic of immigrants in Scripture…more (World Relief)

God is not Deaf nor Blind

Why, Lord, do you stand far off?
    Why do you hide yourself in times of trouble?  Psalm 10:1

The healthcare bill being put out by the GOP senate by its leader Senator Mitch McConnell is no better than his colleague, Congressman Paul Ryan.

I could put together a blog stating my disappointment and disgust as to how these men (and including President Donald J. Trump) could live with the decisions they are making to turn from the sick, poor and elderly to give to the rich.

The best reaction to these men is what does God have to say about men like these who believe that they can do anything they want and get away with it. God’s answer is below.

Psalm 10 NIV (New International Version)

1 Why, Lord, do you stand far off?
    Why do you hide yourself in times of trouble?

In his arrogance the wicked man hunts down the weak,
    who are caught in the schemes he devises.
He boasts about the cravings of his heart;
    he blesses the greedy and reviles the Lord.
In his pride the wicked man does not seek him;
    in all his thoughts there is no room for God.
His ways are always prosperous;
    your laws are rejected by[b] him;
    he sneers at all his enemies.
He says to himself, “Nothing will ever shake me.”
    He swears, “No one will ever do me harm.”

His mouth is full of lies and threats;
    trouble and evil are under his tongue.
He lies in wait near the villages;
    from ambush he murders the innocent.
His eyes watch in secret for his victims;
    like a lion in cover he lies in wait.
He lies in wait to catch the helpless;
    he catches the helpless and drags them off in his net.
10 His victims are crushed, they collapse;
    they fall under his strength.
11 He says to himself, “God will never notice;
    he covers his face and never sees.”

12 Arise, Lord! Lift up your hand, O God.
    Do not forget the helpless.
13 Why does the wicked man revile God?
    Why does he say to himself,
    “He won’t call me to account”?
14 But you, God, see the trouble of the afflicted;
    you consider their grief and take it in hand.
The victims commit themselves to you;
    you are the helper of the fatherless.
15 Break the arm of the wicked man;
    call the evildoer to account for his wickedness
    that would not otherwise be found out.

16 The Lord is King for ever and ever;
    the nations will perish from his land.
17 You, Lord, hear the desire of the afflicted;
    you encourage them, and you listen to their cry,
18 defending the fatherless and the oppressed,
    so that mere earthly mortals
    will never again strike terror.

One thing we know is this.

God is not Deaf nor Blind.

Disabled Advocates Forcibly Removed from Senate Protest

No Mexicans, No Minorities, No Muslims

Acts 17:26 – And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation;

In the year 2000, there was a play titled, No Niggers, No Jews, No Dogs. This American work of penmanship was written by playwright John Henry Redwood.

Then in 2014, playwright Tom O’Brien wrote the two-act play, No Blacks, No Dogs, No Poles.

I bring up these two plays because of the racial and social divide that is taking place right here in America in 2017.

As we start off this new week, I am constantly reminded that I am a child of God and that no weapon form against me shall prosper.

Yet, in my heart, I am sadden when I witness crowds of adoring Trump followers bask in his ignorant rants and speeches about building walls, seizing illegal immigrants and deporting them and denying entrance to Muslims because of where they live.

And all his speeches are what can be considered, “dog whistles,” to his voting base.

He has also continually gone after the press by questioning their credibility and labeling certain news outlets as being fake news.

But the greatest of his offenses is that this man is a blatant liar and these are the lies (which he tells continually) that he consistently throws out to the public that all Muslims are terrorists, all Mexicans are bad people and are illegally living here and all Minorities are poor, uneducated, living in urban areas and are dangerous.

To be honest, I have had my filled of Donald Trump and his divisive antics. He has put more toxicity in the atmosphere that it has polluted the hearts and minds of people living outside of America.

But Trump can’t take total responsibility for his irresponsible behavior. His followers are just as guilty for supporting and pushing his agenda…and I might say, with much glee.

A good friend who passed away a few years ago had a saying that resonates today.

“When you point one finger at someone…four fingers are pointing back at you.”

Americans who bear hate and discord will eventually pay a heavy price. I just pray that they abandon their over joy of demeaning and trying to destroy their fellow human-beings before it is too late.

We got to face the truth that hate is the cornerstone of sin.

Will Trump followers abandon this man of lies?

I doubt it. Even when the facts are in front of them they would prefer to believe his lies.

So for those who are not fooled by Donald Trump, I ask you to take time to pray.

And after praying, just think on this title for a few more moments.

No Mexicans, No Minorities, No Muslims.

It will just be a matter of time when the title will change to other races, ethnic groups, genders or those of different religions.

We Need to Know

Isaiah 10:1-3

Woe to those who enact evil statutes And to those who constantly record unjust decisions, So as to deprive the needy of justice And rob the poor of My people of their rights, So that widows may be their spoil And that they may plunder the orphans. Now what will you do in the day of punishment, And in the devastation which will come from afar? To whom will you flee for help? And where will you leave your wealth?

Trump’s FCC Blocks ISPs from Giving Low-Income Families Web Access

Guess what folks.

We need to know what is taking place everyday that Donald J. Trump is president.

President Trump has been in office now for nearly three weeks and his actions to disrupt Washington, D.C. is affecting we the 99 percent and not the 1 percent.

This president  also had his appointees in federal agencies and bureaus to make major removal of regulations that were set in place during the Obama administration to help the middle and low-income wage earners.

Do you know what is most irritating to date is that mainstream media is too busy focusing on the comedy and not the back end of the joke. And the joke isn’t funny.

If you enjoy using your internet service it may not be so welcoming in the future.

If the FCC Commission Chairman Ajit Pai has anything to do with it. He is slowly dismantling beneficial programs such as Lifeline broadband services and widening the gap of the digital divide for school children in poor school districts. Even the cost of families making calls to their loved ones in prison are faced with rising costs if Pai has his way to look out for his corporate cronies.

As a matter of fact, the newly appointee FCC chairman apparently is all about looking out doing business with business and for business. Mr. Pai is well known for being an opponent of Net-Neutrality.

We need to know the facts of this administration. Donald Trump is no friend of the working class or poor.

So folks, as the old saying goes, “if you don’t ask, you won’t know.” We need to be questioning every detail of President Trump agenda and how it is and will affect all Americans.

We need to know about what is taking place in all the federal agencies and bureaus.

And we need to make calls, send emails and tweets to let Mr. Pai at the FCC be aware about the changes he is attempting to push through will not go unanswered.

Please share this information with your family, neighbors community leaders and school districts.

George Orwell’s 1984 Predicted Donald Trump & Alternative Facts

I started off my weekend disappointed and disgusted that president Trump decided to ban Muslims from entering the United States of America.

As I watched the news of vocal, compassionate and angry protestors that are the true makeup of Americans, my heart sank into bitterness against that wicked and evil spirit that Trump has within him.

One would think that he has the interest of all Americans in mind. But he doesn’t. The only people he is playing to are the ones who voted for him and place him high above God. But even these folks will one day regret their decision to choose a man based on his material wealth and supposedly excellent business successes.

Donald J. Trump is no more than a failed business man and is showing his failure to lead a nation that are proud to say that we are a nation of immigrants.

But here we are now with Trump and Bannon vetting their arrogance, anger, prejudice, bigotry, hatred and white populism/nationalism message to a world that has grown up and will not tolerate their bully pen of executive orders.

The challenge for us who are willing to accept refugees and respect another person’s religion, is not to be tricked into believing that Americans are being attacked everyday by terrorists—especially, when that is not factual or true.

Just to keep it real. I thought on how best I might describe the character and characteristics of a Donald J. Trump who lives his life by believing conspiracy tales, watching television and tweeting from the depths of his empty soul.

God is at Work

But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty;   I Corinthians 1:27

Peace_and_Love_BusListen up people. God is at work!

Well, the presidential election has concluded and the American people have a new president, Donald J. Trump.

The result was devastating to many but not to God.

Now we must come together as a nation because that is the way God would want us to do.

No, I am not pleased with the results but I can accept it because this is what democracy is all about. And my prayer was “God will be done.”

Not only did the chickens come home to roost for the Trump supporters but also Hillary supporters. We are all in this together now, Republicans, Democrats and Independents.

The truth of the matter is that we as Americans need to be more actively involved in all parts of the government. Local, State and Federal.

Our concern at this time shouldn’t be about if Trump will be a great leader for all the people. It is, do we want God to be part of his leadership?

We the people must come to the reality that no matter how Donald Trump leads, at the end of the day, he too will have to answer to God.

So my friends lay down your bitterness and anger and realize that God raises up one and puts down the other. He takes the foolish things of the world to confound the world.

Britain voted for Brexit and Americans voted to elect Trump.

Take the time to put your trust and hope in God only. Keep President Trump, his family, cabinet members in our prayers. As well as the newly elected Congress and Senate.

And let us keep Hillary in our prayers because God has not finished with her yet.

Remember, God still sits on His throne.

God is at work.

Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. Romans 13:1

Look Who’s Knocking at the Door

Proverbs 6:16-19

16 These six things the Lord hates,
Yes, seven are an abomination to Him:
17 A proud look,
A lying tongue,
Hands that shed innocent blood,
18 A heart that devises wicked plans,
Feet that are swift in running to evil,
19 A false witness who speaks lies,
And one who sows discord among brethren.

landscape-1471366112-trumpfan

Here we are on the eve of the most important presidential election in my lifetime, and the stakes could not be higher.

As a Christian and a woman of color, I will not be voting for Donald Trump. Never mind that there are some pastors demanding that their congregation vote for this man, not for any reason but to “save America!” And my question is this…from whom and from what?

Having much-needed time to rest and recover from my latest hospital stay, I have more than enough time to research, review and analyze news from all over the world. But most importantly, I continue to draw closer to God for all things.

To be truthful with you, I have concluded that it is not the two presidential candidates who have taken center stage in my opinion. But rather, it is one particular candidate supporters. And they are the Trump supporters.

The Trump supporters are what really bring to light the truth of what underlies the heart of forty percent of Americans who fall into the middle class.

Trump supporters are angry and disgusted that they let their guard down. As long as the Trump supporters were pulling in decent wages, health insurance, retirement security, owned a home, had food on the table and was able to spend on special events and the like. They were comfortable being the middle class.

They believed that their elected representatives (which are primarily Republicans) would look out for their best interest.

These are the same middle class folks who feel that their hard-earned incomes selflessly belongs to them only (yes, even some Christians are included in this way of thinking).

But alas! The chickens have come home to roost. And no longer is the guarded middle-class able to sustain their self-righteous indignation against the poor, oppress, immigrants, refugees and people who don’t look or think like they do.

Look who’s knocking at the door! Truth (Jesus). God is never satisfied with any of us portraying self-righteousness at the cost of others.

And because the hatred was already planted in the heart of the majority of Trump supporters, I for one believe that Donald J. Trump represents the seven things that God hates.

On Tuesday, November 8th you need to make it a point to vote.

Pence the Fall Guy or Winner?

For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul Matthew 16:26

No matter how much Indiana Governor Pence tries to put a better spin that comes from the mouth of Donald Trump his Republican partner for president.

Donald Trump will not bow down to pressure from anyone.                        Mike Pence

It is Trump nature to do and say anything he pleases, regardless of the consequences. And for several months now, it has paid and played well in his favor and with his enamored base.

But, I contend that America is about to get another curve ball thrown our way, when Donald Trump’s running mate, suddenly bows out of the race.

Sure, Governor Pence may have thought that he would take up one for the Grand Old Party. However, he never even imaged that his own self-righteousness is being tested.

And at this juncture from my viewpoint, Trump is still winning.

Whatever backroom deal was cut with Governor Pence and the Republican powers to be, he is surely learning three costly lessons.

Lesson one.
Don’t sacrifice your soul for a temporary position in this world.

I suspect that in a matter of days or perhaps weeks, Governor Pence will be holding a press conference stating his stepping down from being the vice presidential running mate of Trump.

Lesson Two.
Be true to God and He will be faithful to you.

Lesson Three.
Don’t believe the hype.

If the GOP leadership can’t control the messenger, surely, Governor Pence had no chance at all.

Nevertheless, Governor Pence chose to become the sacrificial elephant.

And with his decision to keep the GOP together, Governor Pence may not be the fall guy after all of this madness.

Pence the fall guy or a winner?

We will soon find out.

The Supreme of All

He that despiseth his neighbour sinneth: But he that hath mercy on the poor, happy is he. ~ Proverbs 14:21

Candidates Reagan & Bush-41 Discuss Illegal Immigration in 1980 Debate

“They need to return to where they came from! USA! USA! USA!”

These words don’t appear to be that hurtful until you hear them and then look at the people who have embraced this patriotic bigotry.

That’s why breaking news from the Supreme Court came as no surprise to legal junkies.

The Supreme Court made a split decision on President Obama’s executive order that would have allowed four million immigrants who have been residing here without legal documentation in the United States not to be deported.

In other words, four justices were supporting the lower court decision to deport and 4 justices were against the lower court ruling.

What the world is seeing isn’t something new by now.

America is so divided in its moral standing that it is hard for any American to convince the world we care for anyone but our own self interests.

The argument on deporting families with children to go back from where they came is that they came in this country without permission.

The argument on the other side is that since they have helped keep America running and have only sought to have a decent living for them and their families. They should be given the opportunity to do so.

Let’s pray that the human race never escapes from Earth to spread its iniquity elsewhere. ~ C.S. Lewis

When we look at both sides of the arguments, we have left out the One who is and will always be the deciding factor of how we should live our lives out while here on earth.

Perhaps a healthy dose of what God says will put us all in our rightful place.

The final decision will always be God.

After all, He is the Supreme of all.

Deuteronomy 14:7-11 -Generosity to the Poor

“If there is among you a poor man of your brethren, within any of the gates in your land which the Lord your God is giving you, you shall not harden your heart nor shut your hand from your poor brother, but you shall open your hand wide to him and willingly lend him sufficient for his need, whatever he needs. Beware lest there be a wicked thought in your heart, saying, ‘The seventh year, the year of release, is at hand,’ and your eye be evil against your poor brother and you give him nothing, and he cry out to the Lord against you, and it become sin among you. 10 You shall surely give to him, and your heart should not be grieved when you give to him, because for this thing the Lord your God will bless you in all your works and in all to which you put your hand. 11 For the poor will never cease from the land; therefore I command you, saying, ‘You shall open your hand wide to your brother, to your poor and your needy, in your land.’
